"Help" link links to wrong language on website

Solved!

"Help" link links to wrong language on website

Generally when I visit spotify.com and press "Help" it will redirect me to https://support.spotify.com/se/, yet I have a Danish account and my account language is clearly Denmark. If I then click via the language chooser in the bottom right of the page -> See all languages -> Denmark then I'm redirected to https://www.spotify.com/dk/ and if I click "Help" then I'm again redirected to https://support.spotify.com/se/

Since it's in English anyway, it's not an apparent problem. If I switch /se/ in the URL with /dk/ (ie https://support.spotify.com/se/get-started/ switched to https://support.spotify.com/dk/get-started/) then it works just as well. If I visit spotify.com I get the /dk/ URL just fine.

So it looks like a minor bug. Someone may want to look at it. Possibly there's a language code attached to my account that's gone without update.

Hey @scarlac 🙂

Thanks for the report, I can't seem to reproduce this myself!

The country choice is saved as a cookie, is it possible your browser is rejecting (or not saving) cookies as some security settings may do this.

Would you be able to try a different browser at all just to see if you get the same behaviour?

Hey @Peter

Indeed! I've just tried Chrome instead and I get the correct URL there. I specifically set Safari up to accept all cookies, including 3rd party since some websites require them. I've just tried deleting cookies through the webinspector without luck. I suspected it may be a safari issue that I cannot delete cookies and then just refresh so I tried using Settings -> Privacy -> Details -> spotify.com -> Remove (this included cache, local storage and cookies). That fixed it.

FYI: I usually use Chrome but recently switched to Safari to test 6.1. I havn't used Safari in a while, so perhaps I have visited the Swedish site at some point way back. Perhaps before Spotify launched in Denmark.

Thanks, Peter.

No worries! 🙂

Its a weird one, it is entirely possible the /se/ domain is the default seeing as Spotify is a Swedish company! Who knows, glad its working for you now 😉
