"Playback disabled"

"Playback disabled"

No matter what I do or which browser I use, the spotify website redirects me to the same pop-up; "Playback disabled" as seen in the image below.

Hey @ChrisThelisten,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

This type of issue could be caused by different reasons. So first, since the error message mentions it, we'd recommend updating your browser to its latest version as the app is not recognizing it as a valid browser.

If the issue persists it would also be great if you could check on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference. Also, since you're using a mobile device, we'd also recommend downloading the Spotify app to see if it shows the same error message.

Lastly, to take a better look at your case, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device.

We'll be on the lookout.

Funny enough, I can use the spotify mobile app without any problems. But I still need to change settings in the desktop website, so this is still a hinderence. Other than that, everything is up to date and as it should be, I especially checked for this when encountering this error.

Now for the make and model of what I'm using. I am using a galaxy s22 UP1A.231005.007.S901USQS4DXBI and the OS it's running is version 14.

I hope this is of some use to you @OscarDC

Hey @ChrisThelisten,

Thanks for your reply.

Can you confirm you're not using incognito mode? Also, what browsers have you tested this with? The one from the screenshot looks like Chrome, so let's try the following to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Open the browser settings.
  2. Select Site settings.
  3. Scroll down to Protected content and make sure it's allowed.

Let us know how it goes.
