spotify randomly play music from the same chinese artist the same time everyday

spotify randomly play music from the same chinese artist the same time everyday

hi, my account start playing songs from one chinese artist at the same time (3:54pm UTC+7) everyday for the past 4 days in a row now, and I'm not sure why.

Yes, I already change password.
Yes, I've checked nobody has controlled over what music I've played.

What more do I needed to check?

Edit: This has yet not been resolved ,seems like spotify accounts got breach to stream this chinese artist and the problem still occuring. For me I got it resolved by logging out of all devices but I don't know how others are doing.

This is the chinese artist >> https://open.spotify.com/artist/0tRn2lWQKRSC1HyGmP5W3G?si=0AjZD6DpTZyhJ5OfhTplQg

If you got the same problem please take time to reply so the dev can see this more and eventually maybe help faster. ( but with this occurrence I'm just gonna move to apple music haha )

Had the same issue again today. Happily listening on my phone during a cycle ride when my music stopped. Spotify had switched to my PC and was playing The Tune, even though there was no one in my office / at my PC.

What is going on, Spotify?! I'd hope you would know the cause by now. Users from all other the world are reporting the same issue...

I’ve been having the same problem, with that exact same artist, at the exact same time. I disconnected it from my Alexa but now it pops up on my laptop in the morning.

Seem problem here. Just remove the artist from Spotify. Would be a good start...

Aaarrrghhhh it just happened again. Sitting at my computer with Spotify open, nothing playing, then bam.... it's that song again. This is bonkers.

Same problem in France with Android phones and a Tv with Alexa and Spotify widget, no routines anywhere nor logs.

Song plays everyday at 08h30 - 08h35 from phones if spotify is not closed or Tv on Spotify widget.

It clearly turn on my TV and plays that song on it if spotify is closed on phones...

I consider to go if the problem is not quickly solved, i want to sleep Sunday bro !

@moderators The only temp solution would be to suspend the account of this "Author" for suspicious activity.

The problem begins to be wolrdwide, imagine someone is driving a car and Spotify launches out loud with this music.

It could generate dramatic accidents surprising people and could lose control of your car,

or ask the author to put a better song, Dammit Carl !

Edit : Seems we can now stop to diffuse the artist when you go to "View the artist", and go to the options (3 dots), "Stop diffusion of the artist". Thank you Spotify 😄

Sorry for bad english ^^
I'll tell tomorrow at 08h40 if it works as expected 😄

My Question or Issue

Every morning at 8:05AM the same japanese song automatically starts playing on my SONOS move.  I have never played this song before.  I went to "do not play this artist" and the next morning another japanese song will play.  I have changed passwords on my account and I live in a house so no one else has access to the move.  What is going on?

Is everyone in a family plan? I’m looking for a common link among us all and that may be it.

@LilHiggs No, in my case it's a solo plan, it looks more like it's refreshing requests to load that song to any Spotify instance on.

If you are listening to music at the moment it should spawn, nothing happen.

But if you are not listening music, it will launch that song to the last Spotify instance On (Tv, Phone, depends if application is closed)

Never saw this option before but now you can block the artist in"View artist" options on mobile.

Yet we don't know if it's a breach of security from Spotify, or a hardcoded hack in an application that we are approx 100000 people to use from last stats.

@moderator Is our Credit Card safe...? Carl ?

yes we are on the premium family account.

I have had the same issue, my Amazon echo plays Taiwanese, and Chinese music at 12 am every single day. The artist has also popped up on my Spotify multiple times

The same things / same Chinese artist is happening for me. It came on once three weeks ago, in my car, which I thought was weird. After that, only at night,  around 3 or 4 a.m. blasting over my Sonos speakers. I uninstalled and reinstalled both apps, and changed both passwords. It still happens. Last night I was so mad I unplugged my speakers. Thinking of canceling Spotify if my sleep keeps getting **bleep** up. Three weeks has been rough.

Having the exact same issue, same artist and everything. I have tried all of the other things people suggested, it will play wherever i was just listening at full volume, that be it Alexa, my phone or my pc. All of my apps are up to date. Something to note is that if it plays from Alexa, I don't get the usual message telling me what it will play so that points it towards being a Spotify issue and not an Alexa issue.
Last thing i tried is telling Spotify to not play this artist from the view artist page, I'm hoping that will work and it won't just move to different random Chinese artist.

We got a new Alexa echo pop device and have noticed that the device will randomly play Chinese or mandarin music in the middle of the night. We have no record of listening to these types of playlists and not sure what is setting off the device.
tried resetting the Alexa and resetting Spotify settings. Not sure if this is happening to anyone else.
I saw a Reddit article.  https://www.reddit.com/r/alexa/comments/1d78dbh/alexa_playing_same_chinese_song_between_12am_and/

curious if anyone’s have similar experiences or suggestions?

Well it seems blocking the artist didn't help, now a new chinese song played on my tv and it woke me up.

Thank you Spotify... Time to go to another serious service

I have the same problem. Same chinese song just randomly interrupts the playlist I a listening too. It even one time connected to my sonos at home and started playing the song when I was not home myself.

Experience exactly the same thing & the same artis! It plays in multiple devices...

I've had this exact issue!! I thought I was crazy since I was the only person to have this issue in my family! It's the same artist as mentioned above and plays at 5 am EDT. I wake up to songs that are either from the playlist's or from related songs playing on my DELL computer next door. It seems to only play on my computer but never on my phone which makes me think that it isn't some kind of Spotify alarm setting nor a Bixby setting issue. It is very creepy and odd. Like I don't know if this is like a new strange intrusive way people are botting listeners??

But thank you for posting this! For this whole time I thought it was only my Spotify doing this!

I have been having this same issue for about a month now. Started with the same Chinese song everyone is speaking about, and there is no specific consistency in when this happens. Typically it is between midnight and 5am, however it has happened as late as 8am PDT as well.

Initially I changed my Spotify and Sonos passwords and that fixed it for 5-6 days. Now it’s back!!! I even came up while I was driving and almost caused me to get into an accident. 😡

This morning it happened again just after 5am, but now it’s different music, and when I looked at my listening history I was surprised to see how long it was of music played, this is weird as it wakes me up every time and I shut it off right away. How could I have this long listening history when it’s only 6:20am?

I have logged out everywhere, changed passwords countless times, and now removed access to all apps. We have a family plan and use IOS as well as Sonos.

Whatever this issue is, Spotify needs to put more resources into fixing and addressing this.  The volume, impact to sleep, safety while driving and the repetitive nature of this issue is triggering trauma responses.

I’m at a loss of what to do next…

If everyone on this thread could send  Spotify a message that could help. I know at least two of us have. If Spotify continues to be radio silent on the issue we can file a complaint with the FTC.

Blocking the artist did not work spammed it again on my Alexa tonight. Also takes away my theory of it only being linked to the latest device you listened to was wrong i was listening on my phone and tonight it blasted over Alexa (it has also happened while Alexa was unplugged to my phone so im pretty confident its not an amazon thing)
