spotify student discount problem?

 On their website it clearly says you can still get the discount while you are a premium member but when i tried to change it tells me this:  "Sorry, you cannot sign up for a student discount while being on Premium." What gives? can anyone help me?

What if i cancelled my premium subscription? though i just got charged the $9.99 on my card i dont want to get charged another $4.99 if i sign up for the student right away.
