spotify won't work at all on my mac after upgrading

i recently upgraded to primium and now spotify won't work.

when i click on it it loads up without asking to log in, loads a small player and full screen player at the same time and when they combine into one it just goes off.

i've tried un/reinstalling it. not a clue what do do now.
