streaming from laptop with unlimited account

Hi,

I have two questions:

1) Can anyone tell me whether I will be able to stream music played with spotify from my laptop computer if I get an unlimited account?

2) And what is this story about high quality streaming with a premium account. Does this mean there is low quality streaming with an unlimited account. Can anyone explain me the difference between high and low quality streaming?

Hi Elke 🙂 

To answer your question, yes you can stream content from your laptop using Spotify unlimited, just like with Spotify free but with Spotify unlimited you won't hear any audio advertising or visual advertising in the client itself. 

The desktop client has two quality settings, Normal which streams at 160kbps (for free and unlimited) and High Quaity which streams at 320kbps (premium only). Normal sound quality isn't bad, but the difference is noticable between qualities on good speakers or headphones. If you are playing back through your laptop speakers I can't imagine the difference in quality would be a noticeable.
