Tried a few times to upgrade my account with the new offer (0.99), getting to the paypal step each time and then get a blank page- what to do?

That doesn't sound quite right. Would you mind clearing the cache/cookies memory in your browser and trying again? Other alternatives are to open an incognito/private window in the same browser or trying the process in a different browser altogether.

Thank you for your suggestions. Tried everything (new browser, incognito..)
nothing works ! I get to the PayPal payment web page, confirm payment and
then passed to a blank page 😕

Just to confirm, what country is your payment method from? PayPal is unavailable as a payment method for some markets currently.
