username has become a symbols set - why and how to fix?

My Question or Issue

When I first registered in spotify via facebook - I had a username as on facebook. Then the username is changed to a symbols set. More than a year has passed, but the bug has not been fixed and this started to bother me. Relogin or reconnecting to facebook does not help. I don’t want to change my account due to a system bug, the account is dear to me.

Hey there!

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to change your username, but you don’t need to remember it. You can log in with your email address and password, or Facebook.

Tip: If you don’t know your email address or password, check out login help. 

You can create a custom display name that replaces the username where it shows on your profile, app, playlists, and Friend Activity.

Can you try the suggestion given here?

If it doesn't work, you can:

1. Cancel your subscription.
2. Create a new account.
3. Transfer your playlists to the new account.
4. Close your old account. 
5. Subscribe to Premium on the new account.
