I made an account using facebook and I just realized today that "real name" under my account profile is completely wrong.
I don't even know who Nina Himmelsbach Bedel is but apparently that's my "real name" on spotify.
How do I fix it to be Eunice Kim instead of that random name?
Would this cause a trouble in the future if I plan to upgrade my account?

Hi!
I´ve just upgraded my Spotify and when I click on "Profile" the name "Christopher Lee" turns up which isn´t me and with a photo. My username is "5meteruppiluften" and want to stay that way. I don´t want to have my account connected to Facebook, i. e. I want to continue to use my username. Though all the playlists which are shown on "Profile" are mine.
Please can you help me?
Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
It sounds like your account has become somehow linked to someone's Facebook.
Since you have a dedicated Spotify username, this is easy to fix. Just head to Edit > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook in the desktop client.
Once you have done that, or if the button says "Connect to Facebook" then you are no longer connected, however, some Facebook data might still be hanging around in your client. A quick clean reinstallation should clean that up for you.

@romspotify - Have you disconnect and reconnected to Facebook? If so it will normally resolve itself within 24 hours.

Hello there garlicandy! Welcome to the Community! 🙂
Since your Facebook Account is linked to your Spotify Account, you will need to change your name on Facebook instead of Spotify itself. Here's How:
Let me if this resolved your issue. 😃 -Grayson
Hello, thanks for the reply.
My facebook name is correct and there's nothing wrong there.
It's just that my name on spotify seems to be all messed up.
Today it shows that my name is "Sera Manubens."
Is this some kind of a joke that I need to get used to?
So, is this something I can fix? I'm having the same issue. . .
I log into spotify with facebook, and on the website it says in the top right that my name is Becky Harris... it is not becky harris...
This is just a very strange bug that i'm sure the people at Spotify would want to know about asap..
a photo can be added if you would like. my account is troxnor and my Actual name is Duncan ______(lastnamewitheld)
Hi ChibiVegan & troxnor- That's very strange indeed.
The best thing you can both do here is fill out our contact form (About Us > Contact).
That way our support team can take a closer look at your account and do some investigating. If there are any other updates we'll post them here.
The same happened to me
I don't know how to do! Need some help here!
Hi Johannaer- Not to worry. There's an email on its way to you now.
I have a similar problem. It says that my playlist that I myself have created is created by some girl named Karolina Thierfelder. I have no idea who that is :S
Hi karro- I've got an email on its way to you too.
In the meantime, please perform a clean reinstallation to ensure you're using our latest release.
I'm having the same problem. It's showing my profile name as Krister Helskog and even has a picture of someone else.
I've uninstalled & reinstalled the application, I've also reset the password several times.
How do I clear this up? I keep getting notifications of people following playlists, but i'm not creating playlists.
Help!
Chris
HI cslack78 - This can be sorted quite easily. Just check out my post right here: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Accounts-Subscriptions-and-Music/Wrong-Facebook-attached-to-my-accou...

Thanks hammeh!
I didn't get rid of the wrong name so I reinstalled Spotify instead. I'm back with the version I had before I upgraded and I think that version is better. I think I'll keep it that way and not upgrade it again. In the latest version you get "following" and "followers" instead of "friends" and you can´t search a username with the usual "spotify:user:xxxxxx" in the searchfield. But thanks anyway!

Hi 5meteruppilufte - I'd like to look at this a bit more with you. I'm going to send you a direct email now.
Keep an eye on your inbox for me--thanks!
Hi again 5meteruppilufte! Just checking in to see if you got my email.
Sent it over to your personal inbox--let me know if you haven't got that from me.
I'm having a similar problem. I signed into Spotify on my Dad's computer. My Dad then used it, and then appears to have linked his facebook account. My username is mathew.r.taylor . I now see my Dad's name at the top left on the windows app. I've removed the facebook link under preferences, but his name remains at the top right.
I've even created a facebook account with my photo, and associated with my Spotify account, and whilst the picture changes top right, the name doesnt, and when you right click and go to profile it has my Dad's name, and his facebook photo.
Please help, before I cancel my subscription and go back to Deezer!!!
