wrong name

I made an account using facebook and I just realized today that "real name" under my account profile is completely wrong.

I don't even know who Nina Himmelsbach Bedel is but apparently that's my "real name" on spotify.

How do I fix it to be Eunice Kim instead of that random name?

Would this cause a trouble in the future if I plan to upgrade my account?

Can't be fixed yet I have the wrong name in the top right hand corner.  Please delete all info from my account which you stole from a facebook account with the same email details!!!!!

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

Are you logging into the Spotify client using your dedicated Spotify username and password (not your email address)? 

If you try and log in using your email address instead of username, you will automatically be signed in using Facebook. 

If you are logging in using your username, you can disconnect from Facebook by going to Edit > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.

I got the same problem, the name that show's up is 'Jet Winke' but I have no clue who that is?

My username is blauweboomvinvis, i connect to my fb all my settings are okay (they're all the right name), just in spotify it shows up completely wrong!

Any solution?

Can you try going to Edit > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook and then reconnect to your own Facebook account again?

Just for the record, I also had the same kind of problem. I went to spotify.com to update my credit card info, and the website showed me logged in with a different name but my profile picture was right. Worried? Yes. I always use Facebook to log in to spotify. I went to spotify.com account information, and it showed the e-mail address and birthday of the other guy. Very worried. It soothed me to see the credit card information was ok and I didn't get to see anyone elses. Went to Facebook, everything OK. Logged out of Spotify and Facebook, logged back in, checked all account settings and suddenly everything fine. However I do not feel good about this at all...

Mine has the same issue, my wife logged into my premium spotify account with her phone, not only did it change her facebook account, but it removed my name as the account holder and put hers in instead. I cannot change my real name even though I disconnected her facebook account and re-inputted mine.

Is the profile picture showing correctly? Normally, it takes the servers a little time to catch up, and it will correct itself within 24 hours.

It is showing correctly, the name is still my wifes name, I actually received an email with my wife's account stating that someone from her friends list signed up.

That is very strange, you will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and hopefully they can double check the Facebook is connected correctly on their end.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

I'm having difficulties like this, too. Someone else logged into my account with their facebook and now their name appears in the top right, and they also appear as my profile picture and username.

I've disconnected and reconnected my facebook, but all that changed is the picture in the top right. 

I've already waited for the servers to catch up AND reinstalled spotify - nothing worked. I'm very frustrated.

How long ago did you reconnect to your own Facebook? 

Just loaded your profile in my client and it does not appear to be connected to Facebook at all, can you try disconnecting and reconnecting again from the Edit > Preferences menu?

when i open the program spotify it shows my photo and name. only my playlist are gone. when i go than to my account, i see the name from my stepdaugther and her names and stuff. i log off. log in with my facebook account and the same **bleep**. i have an fight with her so i cant change the things without her password. i want my account back. i allready removed it and re-installed, i changed my emailadress on fb. but nothing helps. when i log in with my email adress and password and go to my account,  it says her email adress, her name, her playlist and MY photo.

what can i do

@dessert71 - Sounds like your Facebook created Spotify account has been merged with your step daughter's Spotify created account. First thing you need to do is break the link between your accounts which you can do in the desktop Spotify by going to Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook. Her account will then return to normal. 

Unfortunately, it's not so simple for your account as your real Spotify account with your playlists on it will be lost in the login system. You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form (include your Facebook email address for login)) and they will be able to lend a hand to get your account restored.

I have the same issue.  My user name is wrong.  It would appear an old colleague has used my account and sync'd their facebook account.  I've connected my facebook account deleted spotify and reinstalled but no change.  What can I do to change this?

That profile is showing as connected to "David Hitt" for me - so it is right on the public side of things. Which application are you using?

I'm having a similar problem....since my name is pretty common, I think it's mixed up with other John Clarks.....my 'Spotify Artists' page doesn't agree with my Spotify app account.....how can I straighten it out?
