3G Experience

3G Experience

Has anyone had good experiences using Spotify on Android streaming via 3G? Specifically Sprint users, but I'd like to know what others have experienced as well. 3G is my only option for mobile streaming where I live and I just ordered a new Android phone through Sprint. I expect it to arrive soon. It's an LG Optimus S. Nothing special, but I would like to know if people have had good experience streaming over 3G with their devices. Thanks. 🙂

I am fine over 3G (I have HSPA+ connection).

I am in the UK, on the giffgaff mobile network.

It will really depend on how fast your connection is. I use an SGS2, with H+ internet, and it works fine.

(H+ [HSPA+] IS NOT 4G)

I stream everywhere with my Android and Spotify using 320 kbps. No problems. Nonstop listening almost everywhere.

Finland, Elisa Oyj network.

Thanks for the replies! 😄

Ya, I tested it a tad bit on my mother's iPhone with my Spotify account, and it worked flawlessly and pretty fast. So, I am hoping for the same thing from my Android phone when it arrives this afternoon (I have to wait till after work to play with it though, but how else am I gunna pay for Premium). Just wanted to know if other people have had good experiences with Spotify on 3G.

Now, I know this might largely depend on the phone, but, when using Spotify over 3G, what kind of battery life do you typically get?

On my blackberry bold 9900 I get about 10 hours of playback from a full charge when using 3G data for spotify. Using offline mode increases this dramatically though.

In 1500 mah phone about 8 hours online streaming (no cache, from internet). And 16 hours from Offline playlist.

My currentöly phone is Android with 3300 mah so I just listen music, battery life isn't problem for me, so huge times to listen music.

A pretty good experience so far using a Palm Pre 2 on verizon. If my connection speed is less than 400kbs I have to switch to low quality to keep from buffering. This occurs usually when I'm pretty far from a cell and in a metal building.
