Browse is not working and whenever I search it only searches for downloaded songs. (I'm online too)

My Question or Issue

 Whenever I go to search for a song, the search engine will only search my downloaded songs. I think the app thinks I'm offline so I've closed it and restarted it, but those had no help at all. Then when I went to browse I just got the loading screen and it was like that for 5 minutes. On the web browser spotify works fine.

How long has this been going on? Did this start happening after an app or OS update? If you haven't already given it a try, go ahead and do a clean reinstall to see if it helps.
