Browsing a large Liked Songs playlist makes app laggy and unresponsive

My Question or Issue

If you have a lot of liked songs – like 10,000+ – and are browsing your Liked Songs playlist in the Android app, the app becomes excruciatingly laggy. I have over 18,000 liked songs; however, there are no issues browsing them on desktop.

In the Android app, though, browsing a large Liked Songs playlist results in many issues:

• Currently playing song stops playing
• Opening any menu, like the tap-and-hold context menu or the ‘Add to other playlist’ menu, takes a lot of time (1 minute or longer) before it loads.
• Adding songs to other playlists not only takes upwards of two minutes but also results in unexpected errors, resulting in the song being added to no playlists or only one of the playlists you selected.
• The app generally becomes slow and unresponsive.

Given that liking songs is one of the primary features of Spotify – which has existed for as long as Spotify has – this is a glaring issue that should be fixed.
