Can't hear facebook messenger notification sounds while using spotify, unlike all the others sounds

I can hear all app-in sounds, even facebook ones, but when i get a message on messenger the phone vibrates but i get no sound.
i have sound on in the app, tried to switch between sounds, but didn't work either
this happens since the first time i used spotify on phone.
im running android 4.4.2 on samsung galaxy s3 neo
any help would be appreciated, but I'm feeling there's nothin i can do, this must be some stupid bug 😕

If you can hear other notifications then I suspect the issue is actually with Facebook messenger not with the Spotify app.
