My Question or Issue
When downloading songs for "Offline" use, repeated error message displayed on the bottom of the device screen - "Developer warning for package "com.spotify.music" Failed to post notification on channel "null" See log for more details"
Same error on my Samsung Note 9 512gb
Phone Specs:
Samsung Galaxy A5 17 (custom)
Android 8.1.0
it seems like this only appears on Android 8+
try to clear cache and data if this isnt helping Re-Install Spotify
For a Quick but not really helping fix for the Samsung Users with Android 7+ and up
Go to Settings / Advanced Features / Games.
Check both Options
Game Launcher
Game Tools
Now start Game Launcher and add Spotify.
Open Spotify and press the little red dot
Now Check "No Alerts during Game"
(Its just a little fix to remove the anoying Toast message when you're Downloading a song)
Update:
Have initiated a chat the other day with Spotify support.
Didn't quite resolve the issue with a few troubleshootings (including clean install).
Spotify support officer indicated that s/he will raise to the "right folks". It would appear issue is with Android 8.1 (Oreo). Possibly notification coding.
Hope this gets resolved in the next update.
