Extremely laggy spotify premium experience on my galaxy s21 android phone, please help me

Extremely laggy spotify premium experience on my galaxy s21 android phone, please help me

spotify premium has been very laggy on my android phone these last several months.

I have a Samsung galaxy s21 and I've noticed my spotify app has become extremely laggy the more songs I download. I pay for spotify premium and currently have a bit over 6,000 songs in my library. I also set my sound quality and video quality settings to "very high" so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it?? I really don't want to have to lower the quality and sometimes the songs with either take several seconds to switch or not even play at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this issue? I've cleared the data and cache of the app a few times and reinstalled it as well and it got rid of the lag for a bit. However the more songs that I re-download the slower it gets. Appreciate any feedback.

Hey, how are you? Welcome to the Spotify Community! It will be a pleasure to help you.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I can recommend some things to help you with your issue!

You mentioned that you cleared the cache and reinstalled, but I recommend that you actually reinstall your application, and you can check how to do it here.

Furthermore, your device may also have full storage, which may interfere with your experience not only on Spotify, but also on other applications! You can clean them too.

Keep me posted if you still need help!

Cheers,

Hi, I've already cleared data and cache and reinstalled the app. My storage of my phone is only like 60% full so there's plenty of storage left. I noticed this is mainly when I select a song manually from my "liked songs" Playlist. Are there any other suggestions? Will they eventually release an update to fix this??

Hey!

In fact, it's a little strange. I'll give you some recommendations so you can see if any of them work.

First, I recommend that you check whether the issue occurs when the application is offline or not. If not, try a different Wi-Fi network or mobile data to see if there is a difference.

Finally, I recommend that you see if there are any updates to your phone's operating system or Spotify itself.

Could you look at these steps to see if any of them work? Keep me informed so I can continue to help you!
