My Question or Issue

As of a recent update, selected filters on podcasts only apply when the podcast is opened from the library and search tabs. If it is opened from home tab then the filters are reset.

Same here. I set it, it works, I leave that podcast and then go back a minute later and the filter has automatically returned to all episodes. Really frustrating. You get a fix?

No. There is not a fix. And they really aren't working on anything.

I totally bailed on Spotify.  Life is too short to deal with bad software.

For podcasts, there is a really good program called Pocketcasts that
does all this. And the free version is pretty capable.

I have been following robigouks comment and it seems to work.  Even tho it is not a real fix. It makes it easier

Basically, if you access from the Library instead off of your home screen it remember the filter.

Pocketcasts is fantastic! Comparible to some paid apps...

My Question or Issue

Filter at "Your Episodes" are no longer being saved since last update. All filters are being removed after closing the section.

Hi Eni,

This "feature" was available up until the last update. Are you saying that it was removed in purpose and that we need to hope that it gets reintroduced?

Another Android update was published today and still the filter for your "saved & downloaded" playlist is not showing your saved & downloaded podcasts at default.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out!

We have this similar thread, where an issue with the "Remove played episodes" option not being saved was reported and fixed, but our tech team is still looking into the filters getting removed. We'll let you know as soon as we have more info, thanks for flagging!

Take care.

The new episode filters in my opinion need a full time option. Since the filter started all of my 1400 plus episodes show up. I then have to hit filter - downloaded. And now I have to do that 100 times a day at work because my episodes no longer say where I am currently in the episode and that it's finished when I'm already on the next episode so I have to hit home and do it ALL OVER AGAIN! There is no option to filter downloaded episodes until chosen other wise. I cannot keep doing that without getting caught on my phone and work so this really really has me upset half my day now and now I want to switch my music and podcast app to something easier like it was before this new filter.

How is this still a problem after three years? Make it remember per podcast, and maybe make a default choice in Settings.

I tried going through Library, but it doesn't remember it for me, even with app kill and restart. Have not tried a clean install. Shouldn't even be an option, should not be necessary - make sure there is a clean cache button somewhere in settings or help.

Now there's a new problem - episodes that are started it's no longer shown when filter is "unplayed". Which is somewhat correct just not very practical. Filter should be "unfinished" and should include current playing episode, but it is not.

Still no change, no response and no usable filtering available.

I am done. I will no longer use Spotify for podcasts.

This started happening to me, too, recently (within the last couple of weeks) I got a new phone and the issue happens on both my old and new phones. I followed all of the troubleshooting instructions and am still having the same issue. In addition, if I have started an episode but do not finish it, when I re-filter to only unplayed episodes, the partially completed episodes disappear. This did not happen before; episodes would only disappear once they were truly completed

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting in the thread!

Since some time has passed from the last comment here, could you let us know if you're still experiencing this issue? The tech team has informed us that it should now be fixed.

Cheers!

Recent release of Android app has broken the applied filters.

I.e.  filter by "unplayed" or "downloaded" are resetting and not being applied on page AND app exit.

This used to be a fixed toggle....

Still facing same issue. Please bump it up

Nothing changed so far. Filter function is still not working properly.

Thanks for confirming folks! Our tech team will investigate further. Stay tuned for updates! 👍
