The workaround suggested on this thread is rubbish. Years later and the behaviour is still the same.
Ask Google home to "Play Yellow Submarine by the Beatles" and it plays a "Yellow Submarine Mini Documentary".
Ask it to play "Shiny by Jemaine Clement" and it plays the Maori version instead of the main Disney soundtrack version.
Just two examples but it does this all the time, picking random covers or alternate language versions instead of the obvious top hit when you search manually.
A bump on this - Metallica Master of puppets plays the live version instead of normal (would think the normal would be a huge hit considering it was featured in stranger things) Thanks

Asking it to play what was I made for by Billie Eilish keeps playing a kitty version where it meows the whole time.
Once I blocked that Kitty Eilish artist, repeating the request to play Billie Eilish now just defaults to random music by any artists.
There needs to be an option to report songs for inaccurately playing.
Constantly happening for me. Thunder by Imagine Dragons is suddenly playing weird Vegas Live version. Sound of Silence by Disturbed is suddenly playing some weird techno remix that includes another artist! So frustrating as this is all through Android Auto while I'm driving and can't fight with the app.
the fact this is still an issue is amazing. Curious if its a google thing or spotify trying to dodge royalties? should be a simple setting "only play album versions".
