Headphones mic not "released" when receiving a phone call

Headphones mic not "released" when receiving a phone call

Seems like Spotify doesn't "release" the headphone's microphone when I get a phone call, make a phone call or use Google Now.

Example 1:

1) I'm listening to music on Spotify

2) the phone rings: Android automatically takes over and pauses Spotify

3) I try to answer with my headphone's mic.

4) Caller can't hear me.

5) I unplug the headphones, and talk successfully.

Example 2:

1) I'm listening to music on Spotify

2) I open Google Now.

3) I hit the mic icon, and it turns red (Google Now is listening)

4) I talk to the mic, but GN doesn't hear me

5) I unplug the mic, GN hears me OK through the regular phone mic.

This is making it dangerous to use Spotify when I'm driving: unplugging the headphones, fiddling with the wires, grabbing the phone and holding it by my ear may cause problems. Also, using the phone while driving is illegal here in UT.

Please fix this asap!!!

Thanks

I just checked on two devices using wired phones and both worked fine both with received calls and using Google Now and Samsung Voice. Are you using a bluetooth connection to your car audio?

Hi

I have just realised exactly the same issue (1) with my new Galaxy Note 4, android 4.4.4.
