Two months in a row now, Spotify has used 800 MB of mobile data in a giant burst for no apparent reason, even with all the data saver options turned on. I'm almost always on wifi, so I'm lost as to what exactly it's doing. I download my liked songs, and stream my release radar. If I'm out driving around, I listen to my liked songs.
Back when canvas released, it went nuts on data usage. That seems to be under control now, so I'm guessing this is another instance where a new feature is pulling a lot of data in an unintentional way. If going offline / online wasn't such a pain, I'd just stay offline. I always manage to stay offline just long enough so it has to redownload my 6gb + library.
Are there others out there seeing this too? I'm really hoping offline mode isn't the only answer.

Hey there @Ewillia1983,
Thank you for your post here in the Community. We're happy to help.
Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
Canvases are short and looping, so they use very little extra data. Once the loop has been streamed once, it doesn’t need additional data to keep it playing.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Take care!
