I deleted Spotify from all my devices why can't I download music?

The app is telling me that I reached the limit for devices that can download music. However, I have deleted Spotify from all of my devices except this one. And now I can't download any music with Spotify premium. Can you help me?

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. Please follow the steps from this Spotify Guide exactly, as this will assure that all app data is cleared completely, before reinstalling.

Also, make sure that Battery optimization is not enabled for Spotify from the system app settings, as well as that the app is granted all permissions. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app.

If you still get the error message after that, it's possible that the app still thinks that there are downloads on one of your older devices. So what you can try is to clear the cache on one of your older phones, or to install Spotify again and make sure that there are no playlists/ albums on which the Download is enabled. Then delete the app again.

Keep us posted on how you get on.
