My Question or Issue

ISSUE: Since today my Spotify App on my LG C2 keeps making my TV go into screensaver mode even when Spotify is playing and showing lyrics rolling down the screen.

Today (January 25, 2025) when I started the Spotify App on my LG C2, I was somehow logged out and had to login again (used my phone on wifi to auto login), so I'm guessing my Spotify App was updated over night (since I use it almost every day), and somehow the update cleared my old login.

When playing songs my TV now constantly goes into screensaver when playing songs, even when the songs are showing the lyrics. Previously, the spotify app would only go into screensaver, if no lyrics was showing, as a safety to prevent burnin.

That is why I always turn on lyrics, so when I listen to music I can follow along with the lyrics too.

But  now after 2 minutes it will go into screensaver no matter what and I'll constant have to turn on the screen again, which is really annoying as it means I can't do anything else while listening to music, because I now have to keep pressing the remote to avoid it going into screensaver.

There is no way on the TV to turn off screensaver - or even to extend the timer from 2 minutes. I don't have this issue in the other apps, I've used today on my TV (Netflix and YouTube), and seeing as my Spotify App had lost my login, my initial guess is the most recent Spotify App update (or whatever happened).

Please fix this as I almost only use Spofity on my TV via the TV app - even when I'm on my laptop (where I also have Spotify) - because I like having the lyrics showing while I'm listening to music working or doing chores etc, so I can follow along with the songs.

Hey @Barnebarn,

Thanks for reaching out!
If it's possible on your TV model, could you try uninstalling the app and installing it again? In case there's a corrupted file after a possible update, this should resolve it. And, in case the issue persists after this, then the culprit may very well be the update itself.

Take a look when you can and let us know 🙂 We'll be on the lookout for your reply!
