Local Files + Equalizer (Galaxy S4)

Local Files + Equalizer (Galaxy S4)

I have a problem with the equalizer. Whenever I try to play a song that has been imported from my PC's music folder, the equalizer won't affect the sound. It works only on songs that has been downloaded straight from Spotify.

I've tried couple other equalizers too, but I have the same problem with them all.

Anybody else having this same problem?

Hi, and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the equalizer doesn't work on local files, and nor does crossfade. I will confirm with some other superusers and staff who use Android though, as I'm an iOS user so can't confirm.

I've had the excat same problem for months now. Luckily the app Viper4Android from Google Play Store fixed that frustrating problem. It requires root but works flawlessly. You can get it from the XDA-developer site or Google Play Store. The Google Play version isn't updated by the same guy so its semi-official but it worked for me. Theres different options for headset, phone's speaker and bluetooth speaker. The equalizer doesn't dump down the volume on songs also. Hope that helps.

PS: If you want to look into rooting your phone then i suggest visiting http://galaxys4root.com/ , http://www.xda-developers.com/  and zedomax - youtube channel for more information.
