Local songs are garbled on phone

My Question or Issue

When I download local songs onto my phone, they become garbled as if the song is constantly jumping back and forth several times a second.

They work fine on my desktop computer, but as soon as they're on the phone, they get messed up.

Songs that I have found through spotify work just fine, but my local files are all broken during the download, somehow.

I've tried redownloading, reinstalling the app, clearing out the cache and reinstalling... I can't think of anything I haven't tried short of formatting my entire phone, and I'm not doing that just to fix some of my spotify songs.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I completely wiped my phone to get rid of this issue and it came back 3 months later. Getting tired of paying for this Spotify. All you have done so far is remove features and my experience is getting worse, not better. Figure**bleep** out.
