Music stops after a few songs

Hi community,

I'm using the latest version of Spotify on a Xiaomi Redmi 4A device android v 6.0.1

The music stops playing after two or three songs, not sure why. This is especially annoying every time I go for a run as I have to stop and fiddle around, open spotify and skip to the next song or press pause and play 

Any ideas what might cause this?
