My Question or Issue

Hey @brachtti,
Thanks for notifying us about this. Hope you don't mind me replying in English 🙂
Let's do a clean reinstall first. Before that, disconnect all devices from your account here.
Then follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings on your phone.
2. Select "Apps".
3. Tap "Spotify" in the app list.
4. Tap on "Storage> Clear Data" for a clean reinstallation.
5. Tap Uninstall.
6. Open Google Play and install the Spotify Music app.
Please make sure to check this again:
1. Mobile Settings> Apps> Spotify> Permissions. Allow everything you see there.
2. Mobile settings> Apps> Spotify> Battery> Optimize battery usage> select top All (not optimized for apps)> Spotify> disable.
3. Restart the phone.
Keep us posted 🙂

Have a nice day!
Getting a bit tired of the standard answer; "remove the app and install again"
It occurred after an update, so something in the update goes wrong. This is something Spotify has to sole, instead of reinstalling everything (including downloaded playlists)
Hey @Motorfret,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community about this!
Keep in mind that a reinstallation of the app can help solve a number of issues with the app (like the ones mentioned in this thread). There's a good guide to do a thorough reinstallation in the above Spotify Answer.
If you've followed the instructions and the issue persists, could you check if Spotify is set as an exception for any cache clearing and battery optimization apps on your device?
If that doesn't solve it, it'd be helpful if you could tell us the version of your app as well as some details on your device so we can take a closer look.
Keep us posted! Have a nice day 🙂
This did not help me either. I raised this to customer support. it seems like an issue with samsung firmware and spotify's method of playing music. I noticed it helps starting the music again from the lock screen causing the issue to disappear. but its annoying when it does happen.
