New Device, now most of my playlist songs are greyed out

Used Spotify on an S7 and S8 for the past few years (and on desktop, both Mac and PC).  Switched to an S9 and now most of the songs in my playlists are greyed out (unplayable).  Songs were played yesterday on an S8, now not available on an S9 (but still playable on desktop).  Fixable?

have you tried to redownload spotify and or log out and log back in?

If this helped let me know:)

Yes, I have deleted the app and re-downloaded it as well as log in and out several times. Most playlists show as unplayable on device yet all are accessible on desktop.

Well .mp4 files should work, it's .m4p that we have problems with. It might be worth updating Quicktime - that does work for .m4a files at least.

Are the unplayable songs local files? If so you will need to download the playlists containing them as described here.
