My Question or Issue
On all playback modes (lock screen, big player in app, mini player in the app) there are only "next/previous" buttons, no "rewind/FF" buttons at all. Long pressing Next/Previous does nothing other than activate next or previous. Things I have tried
- Restarting phone
- Logging out back in
- Verified premium status in settings
- Cleared cache
- Uninstalled app, restarted phone, reinstalled
- Created non premium account, logged into
it and then back into premium account
- Turned on and off looping and shuffle
- disconnected my Bluetooth earbuds
None of these things worked or made any difference whatsoever. Essentially, other than using the scroll bar, which is VERY hard to do on such a small screen, there is no way to FF/RW in a song. I do not use podcasts at al FWIW.
Attached is a screenshot. Only Next/Prev buttons and scrollbar, long press does nothing
Interestingly. The same thing happens on the web player on my Mac, and the downloaded app on the Mac. That is, neither buttons are greyed out, but long press does nothing. However on both the web player on the Mac and the app on the Mac the keyboard shortcuts (shift-command arrow) work.
Note, the scrollbar works, however it is so small for my fingers that it is VERY inconvenient to use and would never give an accurate "15 second FF/RW" anyway.
Hi there @kirkwoerner,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to clarify how to take full advantage of the app's features.
At the moment, the 15s fast-foward/rewind buttons are only for podcasts and audiobooks and aren't available in music, so the way it looks in your screenshot is how it usually does. As you've figured out yourself, it's possible to achieve this effect on the desktop app and web player by using keyboard shortcuts.
If this is something you'd like to see implemented, then the Ideas section is where we happily gather feedback and suggestions. The same has already been recently been submitted here, so feel free to vote for that to show your support and share it around to help it gain traction.
Hope this clears things up.
Where has it been suggested. I don't see it.
