Only downloading some songs from a playlist

Hey guys!
So I'm kinda having this issue with a playlist that has 1000 songs. I only want to download like 100, 200 max out of the total but the app doesn't seem to let me do that, since every time I press "downloading switch" I lose every song I downloaded, instead of just stopping downloading more songs... anyone knows a fix? Or am I just being dumb?

uh from what i know, you can't do what you described.

what i do is i just have a separate playlist where i put songs i want to download instead

of downloading my whole library

Regarding creating a separate playlist, is there any way to select a lot of songs and move them to a playlist? Because manually and singularly moving 200 songs would just be a pain...

Yeah, but only if you have spotify on mac or pc can you select multiple songs at once.
