This doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes, when using DJ or listening to songs that are autoclaved at the end of a playlist, the clean version of a song will be played despite the fact that I have explicit songs enabled. Also, sometimes the albums recommended to me on the home screen are the clean versions of albums.
Hey @user-removed,
Thanks for reaching out!
Enabling explicit content doesn't prioritize it over the clean versions of songs. It only means the explicit versions can be played 🙂
I believe this clears out the confusion but do let us know in case any further questions come up!
We'd be happy to help 😄 Cheers!
I think this would be a good idea for a future update then. If someone has explicit songs enabled, then I’m sure they wouldn’t want to hear the clean version of the song when using the DJ, listening on autoplay, or when listening to a generated playlist.
Why would I ever want my music to just pause mid word that’s dead air that’s litterally a bad thing

My Question or Issue
Explicit songs keep being replaced with clean versions of the song even though explicit content is set to “allow”
It seems like several Hip-Hop artists and albums only offer clean versions. Is this a choice made by the owners of the catalog or Spotify?
I have been getting a ton of non explicit versions suggested in my release radar out of nowhere recently. and then by it showing up in a playlist i listen to it starts suggesting more and more non explicit versions. when it never did before. Spotify is going down hill on the algorithm end.
PLEASE add a setting that will prioritize explicit versions of songs.
If I'm listening to any rap, then I sure do NOT want to hear the clean version.
Respectfully we are aware that's how it works, but we want The option to make it so that does not happen. Edited versions are lame and annoying. Please consider this for an easy future update!
