My Question or Issue
Whenever I try to view a playlist or album I get a perpetual green loading icon. I can play and pause fine (but only the last played list, because when I try to select a different one it triggers the problem). All menus and options, that don't require opening the playlist/album first, seem to work as normal.
This is only on my (older) Samsung Galaxy A3. My main phone, a Nokia XR20, has no issues.
I've tried: restarting the phone; clearing Spotify cache and data; re-logging in; uninstalling and reinstalling the app. There doesn't seem to be any connectivity issue. I'm on WiFi and the app seems to have successfully re-downloaded 2 playlists (which I was able to start from a menu without entering the lists).
I only really use this phone as a music player while my main phone is charging, so without a fix the device is basically useless. Can anyone please help me?

Hey!
Sorry for the delay, I've had a look and it seems Android Marshmellow isn't supported on the latest versions of Spotify. Spotify is supported on Android 7.0 and above.
Cheers,
Jordan
Hey! Welcome to the community!
That sounds quite frustrating, can I ask if you're using a VPN at all? Does your A3 have an SD card installed and what version of Android is it running?
I'll do some digging and see if I can figure out anything else that might be causing the issue!
Cheers,
Jordan
No VPN. No SD card. Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow).
Thank you.
Same issue here, same Android version.

Interesting.
I've looked on the Play Store and there's nothing mentioned about the app not being compatible with my device or needing to be updated.
It seems like maybe Spotify have left a version of the app on the store that can install on Marshmallow, but haven't kept their server compatible with the older app? This has been installed for a long time and has only recently stopped working.
I understand that app developers can't support older versions of android indefinitely, but it would have been nice to get some kind of notification that support was ending, rather than just find the app broken one day.
Oh well. I guess that phone is getting retired.
Hey!
Yeah it's certainly frustrating that it just randomly stopped working, I'll pass on your feedback about the playstore not indicating Spotify as incompatible with Marshmellow devices.
Sorry I couldn't help further!
Cheers,
Jordan
