Samsung A3 2016 - music cuts out

Recently my Spotify has been cutting out during songs - it just did it twice in the space of about three seconds making listening unbearable. I had thought it was my headphones as they fell into water but I'm currently using a speaker plugged into my phone.

The song doesn't pause - it simply stops and restarts a few seconds later, so the song skips ahead of itself.

I have premium. I am using Android Lollipop 5.1.1

No this doesn't appear to have worked unfortunately - reinstalled and it's
done it now twice in the same song. 😞

Does the same thing happen if your log into Spotify with a different account?

Hello sorry it has taken me so long to reply but I haven't had time to try another account. I am trying one right now and I am having the same issue with it!

This is still happening, however I believe it is only happening when something is plugged in to the headphones port. I have been listening to music today with a portable speaker and have had the same problem, which seems to vanish when I only use the phone speaker.

I am worried this may mean there's a problem with my phone which is only a few weeks old!

Does it help if you reinstall Spotify without the SD card inside your phone?
