Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience as we looked into this.

We've spoken to the relevant teams, who have informed us that free Android users should not be seeing the repeat/shuffle in the Now Playing View, so this is expected behaviour. Instead, you should see the heart/ban icons.

Hope that clears things up! Let us know if you have any further questions.

Currently a free Spotify user and planning to get premium, but this one issue is very troublesome.

I'm using Spotify 8.4.94.817 on my Redmi 4X, on android 7

So I don't have the shuffle and loop/repeat buttons in my now playing interface for some reason and they don't pop up even upon tapping on the three dots in the top right. Is this a fault or an actual intended feature? If it's intended, it should be changed back to when we actually had shuffle and repeat rather than "favorite" and "hide song"

Hey there everyone,

Thanks for reporting the Shuffle or Repeat button missing in the Now Playing View or in the menu when tapping on the 3-dot button on the upper right hand corner.

We've passed this on to the right teams and they'll be looking into this.

Tried reinstalling and still doesn't appear.

Tried playing songs from my own playlist time check if it appears. It doesn't.

So basically it's disappeared completely.

My friends iPhone has the repeat and shuffle buttons Still. Android is getting second hand treatment again.

I also do not have a shuffle or repeat button, and I have been a premium member for 4 years....They just disappeared a day or two ago. It is kind of a deal breaker for me, those features are pretty important to using the app.

Same here. The shuffle option disappeared very recently, and I'm also a premium member. This is a deal-breaker for me, also.

Same here, I am a Premium user and It's ridiculous to have to go the the 3 dots to find the shuffle button. Shuffle is an important feature and should be visible at all times.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community. We're happy to shed some light on the situation.

Only the Made For You playlists should have the Like / Dislike buttons instead of Shuffle and Repeat in the Now Playing view. Hitting those will give you better recommendations, but you can still find Shuffle and Repeat if you tap the three dots to access more options.

All other playlists and albums will still have the Shuffle and Repeat icons in the Now Playing view for quick access.

Hope this info is useful. Let us know if you have any further questions!

Happy listening 🎶

And why am I not allowed to see the shuffle and repeat buttons "jUsT bEcAuSe I hAvE aN aNdRoiD"? I am sorry but WHAT? so that means that i have to switch to iphone to have the shuffle and repeat buttons for free? This is stupid.

I am using an iPhone and I also do not have the shuffle or repeat buttons on my now playing view. They are also not there when I hit the dot. Everything I try to play is stuck in the shuffle mode.

Hey there @Tlh2md,

Welcome to the Community!

When you're listening to songs from the Release Radar playlist, in the Now Playing view you can click the 3-dots  in the upper right corner and should be able to see the Shuffle , Repeat  and Go to Queue  buttons on the top of your screen.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to reach out again.

Have an awesome day!

Hey there @user-removed,

Thanks for the screenshot.

The Shuffle and Repeat functions in the recommendation playlists are currently available on Premium accounts.

Spotify constantly strives to improve the user experience with its features and the easiest way to achieve this is by regular app updates. That’s why we appreciate you taking the time to share your suggestion with the Community.

If you think other users might also like it, go ahead and create an idea on the relevant idea board. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented :slightly_smiling_face:

Give us a shout if you have more questions.

I’m on iPhone SE and the buttons are still not showing. Pls help

Hey there @Ellsworth

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out about this!

First up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you let us know the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device?

Additionally, would you mind sending us a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂
