Shuffle downloaded and play local songs

My Question or Issue

I just recently changed from "the big river" and there are two (pretty basic) functions i can't find in the Spotify android app.

1.: Just shuffle trough all my downloaded songs. There isn't even an option for "Songs" in the library, just playlists, artists and albums?

2.: Play the local mp3 files on my phone. The app won't even notice them?

...what am i missing?

Thanks for reaching out. Hopefully I'll be able to answer your questions 🙂

Currently, there isn't a way to view all your downloaded songs and shuffle them. As a workaround you can create a playlist where you add all your downloads.

As far as the "songs" tab in Your Library, you can find your liked songs in a  playlist called "Liked Songs" at the top of the "Playlist" tab in Your Library.

Regarding your last question, I'd recommend checking out this Support article for more info on how to stream local files on your devices.

Using playlist just to shuffle all songs seems relay inconvenient, especially with lots of downloaded albums.

Also having to upload all own songs is just an unnecessary extra step!? Especially as i have my music library sorted in a folder structure which would be lost.

I might have to reconsider if Spotify fits my needs...
