My Question or Issue

Hello,

if I change from online to offline the sorting of the songs is changing to a wrong order. This happens here https://open.spotify.com/album/43ueKn4i2UyB0Zsl4eZN2z?si=mYmHBz3xRmaDjhefhWLXyg

The first screenshot shows the correct order when I'm online. "Kapitel" means chapter.

The second screenshot is the offline mode. You can see that after "Kapitel 1.2" (chapter 1.2) the sorting shows "Kapitel 30.13" (chapter 30.13) which is not correct.

Hi there @stebo,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Have you tried sorting the playlist once you have it open in Offline mode?

Also does this happen with every playlist/album you download or just this specific one?

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Cheers.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your fast reply.

This is not a playlist. It's an audio book. No I didn't tried sorting. How can I do that?

Also does this happen with every playlist/album you download or just this specific one?

It happens only with this specific audio book. To reproduce the sorting error you have to close the app after downloading the files. When you reopen the app and turn off the internet, the app rearrange the chapters.

Cheers

Hi there @stebo,

Thanks for the reply and the info 🙂

I've checked this out and it appears exactly as you've said on my device as well, when in Offline mode content is not in order. I'd recommend you go ahead and report this following the instructions here.

This way it will get to the content team at Spotify, who'll look into it.

In the meantime you can try this workaround:

  1. Open the Audiobook and click the 3-dot menu.
  2. Select Add to Playlist. This will add all chapters to a separate playlist you've just created.
  3. After that download that playlist ( It might already be downloaded if you have the chapters from the audiobook saved on your device)
  4. When you're in Offline mode the chapters appear in order in the Playlist you've created.
  5. You can also sort them from the 3-dot menu > Sort > Sort by.

Hope you find this info helpful.

Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.
