Spotify playback no longer showing up on my lock screen or notifications

Spotify playback no longer showing up on my lock screen or notifications

Since my phone (Galaxy S24+) updated, the Spotify playback is no longer showing up on my lock screen or in my notification bar. I can't find where to turn it back on in either my phone settings or the Spotify app settings.

Hey there, thanks for asking in the Community! 🎵

Could you check the notification settings for Spotify? You can head over to your phone settings → apps → Spotify → notifications → check if all the options are turned on. You can also share a screenshot of your notification settings so I can take a better look.

Also, notice if the lock screen and notification are showing up for other media apps. And make sure your phone software is updated as well as the Spotify app from the Play Store.

Let me know how it goes. 🙂

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I have the same problem.  Spotify stops playing on the phone or on my Echo Dot when I change screens.  If I open the app it starts again.

It happened after the last Android updated to 15.  I have a Samsung S22 Ultra.

Hi, @LMarin9,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

By "changing screens", do you mean navigating to another app or minimizing Spotify? If so, make sure the app is allowed to run in the background in your phone's settings. If you're using any battery- or data-saving settings, try disabling them temporarily to see if that helps alleviate the issue.

Should the issue persist, try using another Wi-Fi network or switching to cellular data instead. You can also ask a friend or a relative to create a mobile hotspot for you to connect to. Something else that's worth checking is if using another device (a friend's or a relative's would do) makes a difference.

Let us know how it goes 👍

Nvm. It's a Samsung UI issue and there's no way to fix it.
