Spotify doesn't recognize phone

Spotify doesn't recognize phone

Hello,

Since a few weeks Spotify doesn't recognize my phone anymore. I've tried uninstalling both the Windows program and the Android application but nothing worked. I've tried clearing the cache, data etc. but whatever I try Spotify just won't recognize my Samsung Galaxy S2 over WiFi or mini-usb cable.

Whenever I add a local file to my playlist it doesn't download it to my phone, but when I add a song that is not a local file it does show up on the Spotify App.

Thanks in advance.

Can you try right clicking on the icon on your windows desktop and selecting "Run as Administrator" and see if that makes any difference?

I run almost all my programs as Administrator (problems with Windows 7 etc.), so no, that did not make any difference.

Temporarily turn off any firewall/proxy/security/antivirus applications and see if that helps.

Thank you soo much. that worked for me. I was able to turn off all the firewalls and it recognized my S3.

Great. Now you need to add exceptions to your firewalls etc so you can feel safe 🙂
