TV app crashes on startup

TV app crashes on startup

Other user on the account (not the main user) doesn’t have a problem. To get to the log in screen to be able to choose the other user, we have to remove the app and re-add it.

Same happening to me and spotify support is useless asking me if i could check internet connection or unplug tv from power source….

Same here. Crashes every single time on first open, then never again. Except sometimes, randomly, it keeps crashing. Please fix this!

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out!

Does this occur sporadically or have you noticed it only during a specific event (like when you first launch Spotify, or when you navigate to a specific playlist)? Does restarting the app fix it?

Something that comes to mind is testing if launching the app on your TV via the Spotify Connect menu on your phone/desktop makes a difference - just make sure the devices are connected to the same network and you're logged in on both:

  1. Open Spotify on your phone/PC.
  2. Navigate to the Spotify Connect menu found in the Now Playing view.
  3. Select your TV from the list of devices. This should launch Spotify on your TV as well.

It's also worth checking if there are any pending updates for Spotify or your TV in general and installing them. If you haven't already, try deleting the app and installing it again to get rid of any potentially corrupted cache.

Cheers 🤘
