Spotify isn't showing the song I am current playing on the bottom of my phone screen when in the app

This problem just randomly started occurring. When I'm playing a song it's not showing it on the bottom of the screen when I am in the application. The only way to get to the "now playing" screen is to minimize the app and then open it again from my task bar. Was this an update? If so, it was an awful idea.

Sounds odd and is definately not the intentional behaviour. Can you try a clean install as detailed in the troubleshooting guide linked in my signature?

Disregard. I simply logged out and then in again, and it is now working properly.

So--to be clear--the "fix" is to stop playing the music that I am playing, close the Spotify app, then open it up again? That doesn't seem very user-friendly.
