Spotify on google home

I use spotify from multiple devices. But I never attempt to play it on two devices, etc. I bought a Google Home and I used to be able to say "Hey Google, play xyz album." It of course would start playing. But now when I ask it to play a song, it will indeed start playing, but as soon as I pick up my phone to make a call, check my email etc, the music stops from the Google Home and it alerts me that Spotify was being used by another device. Except it's not. The Spotify app is open in the background and that's it. This just happened today. And not sure how to fix it. Thanks for the help everyone
