Spotify starts on phone when I start it on the PC

My Question or Issue

 Whenever I start to play music on Spotify on my PC the Spotify App starts to run on my phone as well, even though I've "swiped away" the spotify app. My phone also shows as an available device to play from constantly. Do I really have to go into My Apps and "force exit" every time I want to turn off Spotify on my phone? Thanks in advance!
