Hi,
I have just started up my new Z3 Compact, installed a 64GB SD card and downloaded Spotify. I have had a premium subscription for several years used on many devices. For the first time ever Spotify will not start. Is this a familiar problem with a solution?

Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi,
1. Formatted SD card from pc and reinstalled
2. Spotify would not save to card
3. Deleted Spotify and reinstalled
4. Started Spotify and saved playlists to SD card, I use extreme quality for both play and download
Spotify seems to be very touchy/unstable in the use of SD cards, should be possible to improve this.

Hi @TorJH and welcome to the community 🙂
This is likely because Spotify is confused as to where the cache is. Could you do the following:

Hi,
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately it did not work.
The error message says: Unfortunately, Spotify has stopped. Report. OK.

Hi,
The solution after some experimenting:
1. Start phone with SD card installed
2. Install Spotify
3. Spotify does not start, error message appears
4. Pull the SD card
5. Try to start Spotify, message says no SD card is available
6. Insert SD card
7. Start Spotify
Now I can't sync and play music offline, need to check the solution elsewhere in the forum....this won't work without some effort...

Android doesn't really like SD Cards - google never really wanted them implemented (which is why their Nexus devices aren't expandable).
It also gets more complicated when you find that Android 4.4 has restrictions for the external SD Card...
Anyhow, glad it's sorted...
