Spotify, this is the most annoying "feature." You really nailed it when your were just serving music. Please improve UX around choosing media. It sounds like ditching all the suggestions is a good start, or at least put out of the way of the stuff users actually listen to.

Yes, I hate the podcasts taking such a prominent place on my homescreen. I also made the mistake of accidentally listening to a podcast and now I'm stuck with that nonsense..  It would be a lot better if I could delete it, disable it, put it at the bottom (in that order). Every time I open Spotify I am annoyed. Please Spotify, do something about this!

Please!!!!    Let med use spotify as a music service again.  I do listen to a pod now and then, but I AM NOT interested in getting hundreds of pod-suggestions a week.  STOP SHOVING UNWANTED PODS DOWN MY THROAT ALL THE TIME. 

At least give me an option to favor music over podcast.

Been searching for this pretty much every weekend. The number one douchecast they advertise to me is Joe Rogan's boat of BS. F****ing atrocious. I'm about done with spotify. Love the music, hate the lack of options. Rather play music off my own directory so I don't have to see the faces and names related to this moronic "podcasts". Podcasts.... sigh

I wish we could edit what was shown on our home page. I only get 3 rows on my PC and one row is ALWAYS podcasts.  I do not listen to podcasts. I have no interest in podcasts - any podcasts.  I would love to reclaim the useless row for something I might actually listen to.  Spotify is the only viable game in town, but the interface is absolutely horrid.  We seriously need to be able to customize our home page.

GREAT POINT!!!! I pay for an "Ad Free" experience. Force feeding me podcasts is not "Ad Free" The behavior by Spotify shows a complete lack of respect for its user base.

I took the time to sign up for this community in order to post this. I tend to NOT open Spotify now because of the gross podcast artwork of Joe Rogan. It reminds me of the crazy murderer Charles Manson who killed Sharon Tate at 8 1/2 mos pregnant . I'm sure I'm not the only one who is offended by the similarity of the images. I went to try and turn off podcast suggestions -- and... nope, can't seem to find a way to do it, just thousands of upvotes on the idea of allowing a user to turn off the podcast suggestions. 

I have a family plan with all my kids using it, but I have always found Spotify to be a buggy app with memory leaks and other issues. I finally gave in to trying to switch over to it as my music go-to and now I'm turned off. I hope Spotify is listening, but based on the many unresponded to pleas here, I think I'm just p**sing in the wind. Oh well.

tldr, spotify sucks at what they do
They should add the ability to shut off bad UI ideas like podcast suggestions for people who don't listen to them. Their lame cohort recommendation algorithm is garbage, I don't need to look at idiotic podcast hosts that spotify product managers are trying to grift with so they can get a promotion based on stats. They could have recommendations based on actual musical and content similarities, but - full circle, they are bad at what they do.

The music selection is pretty good on Spotify. The UI is horrid!  I keep marking bands, or songs, as 'do not play'... they keep trying to play them. I do not like podcasts - any podcasts - yet 1/3 of my homepage is permanently blocked with their trash.  Every time I use Spotify I miss Pandora more and more.  I hope Pandora comes to the Philippines eventually (yes, I can VPN but that affects other sites at the same time, not efficient). 😎

Spotify simply ignores a simple request of the users:

We either don't want to see podcasts or some promotion of podcasts selected by your local team.

How can me and my wife with two entirely different music and podcast taste may receive the same suggestions in the homepage at the 'shows you might like' section. While my wife in fact is a foreigner who is not hearing any local podcasts?

Wait it is not just two of us, other people from also happens to get these same suggestions.

Please, can any mod explain that 'coincidence' and odds of that happening?

PS: Spotify doesn't learn my taste no matter how long i leave some podcasts on play, of which some i might possibly like despite of not listening to, but persists on showing those promotional podcasts?

Moreover, we vote but your team decides to implement it later. If not to be taken serious then why did you even introduce the voting ideas feature here?

Someone was listening to a s** podcast on my account and now, just as you expect, s** episodes that i dont wanna listen to are on my account, so please please PLEASE fix this and add a hide podcast option.
