Suddenly unable to download tracks over mobiles data

Suddenly unable to download tracks over mobiles data

For some reason Spotify will no longer download over mobile data. The option to allow it is still ticked, my phone has loads of free room and the app has storage permissions granted.

 

I've reinstalled the app, power cycled my phone and tried changing the storage used to my SD card instead of using internal storage.

 I'm still just presented with

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community!

 

If you're having troubles with your offline content not downloading, we'd first recommend following the troubleshooting steps provided here.

 

If that doesn't do the trick, we'd recommend following the steps below for a clean reinstall of the app on your device:

  1. Head here and click Remove all devices
  2. Go to your Spotify settings, scroll down to Storage and then clear the cache
  3. From the Android home screen, tap Settings > Apps
  4. Find Spotify in your list of apps, tap it and clear the cache and data. Then select Uninstall.
  5. Switch your device off and wait a couple minutes
  6. Switch your device back on
  7. Open the Google Play Store then search for and install the Spotify Music app

Unfortunately I'm still having no luck after following these steps.

I can download when on WiFi and I can stream over mobile data with no problems.

Thanks for getting back in touch with this.

 

If possible, we'd recommend trying to download your offline content over a different data connection. If the issue doesn't persist in a different data connection, make sure of the following:

  • Check you have enough data allowance.
  • If that doesn't help, we recommend contacting the service provider of the original network for more information.

Unfortunately the issue is not with my data connection. I can stream data from spotify, youtube etc no problem. I have tried another SIM card in my phone with the same symptoms.

The issue lies within my spotify account.

Could you try and maybe let a friend or family member log in to your account? That way we can determine if this is an account issue or not 🙂
