The songs in an album don't fade together

My Question or Issue

Usually, when I play an album in order on my cellphone, songs that fit together play smoothly and fade with each other. Now, since a few months ago, when two songs are supposed to naturally switch, there is a cut. So if I was to listen to Nonagon Infinity, for a popular example, the experience wouldn't be continuous, because there is a 1-second cut between each song. This seems small, but it's pretty annoying.

N.B. I'm not talking about the crossfade option. I don't want the songs to overlap, I only want them to feel "stitched" together (as usual).
