My Question or Issue
There is no way to set this app to use wifi only. People have been asking for it for ten years.
I am sick of burning up my data because you're too corrupt or too lazy to add this simple feature.
Add a simple button. Now.
We're paying you for this, did you ever realize that?
Hey @TheDapperDanMan
Usually, there should be a toggle within your device's settings app to control this. Have you checked there?

Yes, of course I have checked.
You can only set it to "Offline Mode" which only allows you to play music you have downloaded. That means you cannot use your wifi.
Again, there is no option to allow wifi but prevent it using data if you have turned your wifi off, which many people do occasionally, when they are getting bad wifi reception and choose to use their data.
When you forget to turn wifi back on, Spotify chews up data by the gig.
This isn't hard.
Hey @TheDapperDanMan,
Thanks for your reply.
What @kaworu_bloodpaw kindly meant above is that you can usually find such a feature in your device's settings. In other words, not in the Spotify app settings but in the configuration of your device itself.
That being said, if you'd like to fully prevent the app from using cellular data, you can do so on Android devices Settings > Apps > Spotify. Just note that this would make the whole app unusable when on cellular. There you can search for the option "restrict data usage" or something along those lines (depending on the manufacturer's ROM). iOS users can find this in Settings > Cellular.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need a hand with anything else, we're always a post away.
Thanks for your reply. I'm using an Android, Samsung Galaxy S10.
As you suggested, I went to Settings > Apps > Spotify.
Under the "Usage" heading, there's a "Mobile data" section, so I clicked there.
In that section there are two radio buttons:
Allow background data usage (currently on)
Allow data usage while data saver is on (currently off)
Would either of these be what you're referring to?
I don't see anything else in Spotify's App settings that might pertain to only allowing Spotify to use wifi in the settings.
Hey there @TheDapperDanMan,
Thanks for your reply.
In this case, we'd recommend getting in touch with the manufacturer of your device to check if they can offer some insights in this matter and about the device's settings. As mentioned above, this depends on the manufacturer's ROM.
We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.
