I can play my local MP3s in my MacBook Pro but unable to play it on my Android (Pixel) phone. Is this because of an update?

It's been downloaded since months ago. I tried re-downloading last night and even tried creating a new playlist with my local songs and hit the Download option on my phone. Nothing's happening.
Ah, I was going on what you posted. Anyway, here's my list of things to check if local files won't download.
If you still can't make it work, you can create a mobile hotspot on your mobile and connect your PC to this hotspot via wifi. Syncing the local files should then work.
There is an additional error you have not included in your list.
On Windows computers, make sure your network profile is "Private" instead of public. Find this under Settings -> Network and Internet -> properties -> [under Network profile]
I tried all the other steps to no avail but finally this worked.
