Unable to start Spotify on my Sony Z5 Compact android 7.1.1

My Question or Issue

Unable to startup Spotify. When i click on the app Spotify asks me to login. After I have typed in my username and password and pressed the button "Login" a window pops up and claims "You are offline currently" (and then an underline) "Go online to connect to Spotify" (and two buttons) "Cancel" and "Connect". In swedish "Du är offline för närvarande" "Gå online om du vill ansluta till Spotify." "AVBRYT" "ANSLUT". If I chose "Connect" the screen blinks and the same mesage appears again "You are offline....". My internet connection is error free when I can surf through other apps. I have tried to reinstall Spotify but it does not help. I have also logged out all my connectionn to Spotify througt Spotify website. By the way I can use Spotify on any other platform except from this phone.
