White screen and force close on startup, Galaxy S (original)

I just did a factory reset and a SD card format on my Samsung Galaxy S (2.2 froyo). I downloaded Spotify from Google Play and when I try to start it I get:

1. White screen followed by vibration

2. Two short vibrations

3. Error message "The application Spotify (process com.spotify.mobile.android.ui) has stopped unexpectedly"

I have done multiple reinstalls with clearing cache, nothing helps! Anyone else?

I've seen this exact question elsewhere, but it was answered by a real joker who just said to uninstall Spotify, which I am not about to do. Please provide actual advice on how to resolve problem ASAP.

I filled out the troubleshooting template, hopefully this will help.

=== START OF TEMPLATE ===

Description
Please describe the problem
The Spotify app will not launch on my Samsung Galaxy S (the original, yes).

What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?
1. Recieved Samsung Galaxy S from friend, already reset to original factory settings. Turned on, activated with Verizon, did Setup, put in MicroSD card.
2. Installed Spotify from Google Play.
3. Launched app by touching icon in app library (it would not launch, repeatedly tells me to force stop).

What I expected to happen
The app to launch normally.

Thank you!!

I have the same problem on the Galaxy Ace Plus running Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. The app will open, but when I try to re-enter the app (after a while) it will come up with a white screen, and will tell me that application Spotify (in process....) is not responding. I have to force close the app, then go back in on it (which means I have then lost my current playing music). Help is appreciated as I will not buy any more subscription time if the issue isn't fixed. Thanks

What version of Spotify are you running? (in settings/info)

Also having the same problem since last night on my

Samsung Infuse 4g running Froyo 2.2.1

Was working just fine the day before...no changes made to the phone

unless it is the latest update that is causing it.
