android 8.1.0 and HEOS/Denon AVR-S930 2nd zone turning on Main zone

My Issue

when using the Spotify via Denon's HEOS app on their AVR-S930 receiver set to zone 2 only w/ the main zone being set to off, anytime I fast forwartd or change tracks the main zone powers up and mirrors zone 2. I tried keeping the volume down on the main zone but anytime I adjust the volume on zone 2 the main goes along for the ride. this startted about 1 month agao to the best of my knowledge and only happens with Spotufy, not Amazon Music but my world is Spotify. please help
